Letter Writing
One way to share your faith in God is to "Invite a Friend" to visit this website. Another way is to write a letter.
You do not have to be an official friend of Forecast For Life Church to be an "encourager." But these letter writing tips might be a help.
Sometimes we don't know what to say when people are in trouble, sick or even dying. You might consider talking about what godly courage is, and God's loving plan of hope.
Benefits of Letter Writing
Forecast For Life Church is following the pattern set by the greatest letter writer of all time: The apostle Paul. Of course our letters are not with the same authority, but the spirit of encouragement and passion is the goal.
- A letter can bring a message of encouragement that can be re-read many times.
- Thoughts can be communicated without interruption.
- A letter can be studied, spell-checked, and re-written to convey exact intentions.
- With a phone call or visit, important parts of your message can be overlooked or not remembered at the time.
- Practice makes perfect. Be diligent to have your words make sense and give honor to Christ.
- Everyone likes to get mail, especially if it is not asking for money.
Recommended Guidelines
- Not too many scriptures written in full.
- Be an encourager. * no gossiping or complaining.
- Stay focused; not overly personal.
- Limit the gory details of the past.
- Keep it simple. Deep theological doctrines and Christian "buzz" words should be avoided. Example: Anointing & body of Christ. (instead just say "Jesus" and "believers."
- Keep it short. Write several letters instead of one long one.
- Not too many religious words.
